Okay everyone....I suppose you want to know how I got my nick
name...well.....I guess I'll tell you....so here it goes.
Back in May, 1998 on the Memorial Long Weekend I went for a trip
to Washington D.C. with my parents. We went for The Run For
The Wall for the Vietnam Veterans. Anyway....on the Saturday
night at the hotel, I kinda let it slip that I was afraid of
spiders. That is one thing that you do not do is let something
slip around those guys. So the Saturday night at the hotel
there was a guy from Alaska talking to us and he heard me say
that I was afraid of Spiders. So he started to tease me with
twigs and stuff on the back of my neck.
So that was fine...then on the Monday we started a run that's
called The Run From Wall To Wall. When we were in West Virginia
we stopped at a restaurant and after lunch we were sitting on
the side lawn. The guy that was sitting beside me had spiders
crawling on his legs and I got up and I shot across the parking
lot. My mom saw me run across the parking lot and she said
"Stef (That's me) is so proud because she hasn't gotten a
nickname all this weekend". Well then....one guy from
California heard that and he said "Well I know what we can call
you....we'll call you spider!"
Then when we got to Windsor and to the legion...everyone heard
my nickname and by the time we were ready to leave for home...
everyone was calling me spider. People still call me spider and
I have a feeling people will for a very long time. :-) But
that is okay.
